Cooling design data

The Weather Manager Cooling design data settings are used to display cooling design data for the selected weather profile location’s default design day. You can change the design day and recalculate the data.

SettingDescription
Cooling design data type Used to set cooling design data with a single selection based on specifications derived from the 2013 ASHRAE standard. Selecting any of the available AHRAE design day types disables the other Cooling design data parameters. Selecting user supplied data enables the other Cooling design data parameters.
Design day Used to display or select a new design day to recalculate the cooling design data. When you click on the design day, a pop up calendar appears.
Design dry bulb temperature Displays the highest temperature of air measured by a thermometer freely exposed to the air but shielded from radiation and moisture on the selected weather profile’s active cooling design day.
Dry bulb temperature range A design day can have a high temperature and a low temperature (or can be a constant temperature for each hour of the day). If there is a difference between high and low temperatures, this field contains the difference from the high to the low.
Mean coincident wet bulb temperature Displays the average of the highest and lowest temperatures of air measured by a thermometer freely exposed to the air stream but shielded from radiation and moisture on the selected weather profile’s active cooling design day.
Wet bulb temperature range Displays the difference between the maximum and minimum wet-bulb temperatures on the design day. Used for generating daily profiles of humidity conditions.
Mean coincident wind speed Displays the average wind speed used for the calculation of the cooling design data.
Prevailing coincident wind direction Displays the wind direction measured clockwise from North for the maximum cooling month.
Tip: Units Display – Units are displayed using the default system of units that was defined for the project, but can be changed to display using alternative units.
